This first time Nolan brought me here was last fall, and I fell in love right away. It’s a classic Cincy brunch and breakfast diner, made better by the fact that in the warmer months there’s a farmers market the next street over. It’s the perfect weekend morning spot, even though you may wait in a line for a little bit.
I’ve had a different thing almost every time I’ve been, and every time I walk away satisfied and already looking forward to my next visit. This past weekend when we went again I had the Belgian Bird, a breakfast sammie made with chicken fingers, a fried egg, and cheddar cheese on a Belgian waffle, and I added bacon to mine. I’m sure I weirded our waitress out when I basically took my sandwich apart and ate all the ingredients separately, but I really just wanted the chicken fingers and bacon. Looking back at it, I probably could’ve ordered the lunch entree of chicken tenders and gotten a side of bacon, but for some reason my mind thought it was earlier in the day, and not the 1 PM time that it actually was, a fact Nolan made fun of me for.
He had ordered the Belgian Bird last time, so he went for an omelet this time and definitely loved it #cleanplateclub. We both ordered the potato cakes as our sides, which we highly recommend.
Hopefully we’ll see y’all at Echo sometime soon, you can definitely catch our hangover asses there on Sunday mornings 😉
