I couldn’t help but kick off our Cincinnati page with a local staple of ours, and not just because Nolan works there. Bub’s has been a favorite of ours since this past summer, and with two locations it’s handy even at 2 am on a Friday night. Servicing both the Mt. Adam’s and Mt. Lookout areas, the menu is full of great pizzas, wings, tots, and salads.
Owned by Mike and Yana, both locations can make you feel at home. These two are some of the best you’ll meet, and it shows in the staff that they hire. I’ve spent many late nights drinking wine and having a slice of Chicken, Bacon, Ranch pizza while Nolan works I feel like I’ve cemented my “regular” status. I never worry about being there by myself as I know all the employees are looking out for me.
But enough about the atmosphere, I know y’all just want to know how the food is. My personal favorite is a slice of Chicken, Bacon, Ranch pizza with a double vodka (my personal favorite is Karrikin Vodka) and raspberry White Claw. The pizza is thinner, but the slices are nearly plate sized so one slice usually does it for me. You can either order by the pie or get one of the most popular pies by the slice. I don’t always stick to pizza though, and have had their caesar salad and definitely enjoyed it, and Nolan can testify to the fact that I’m a salad nut so I should know what I’m talking about.
Nolan’s favorites include a slice of sausage and banana pepper pizza, the meatball sub, and wings tossed in the hot honey sauce. Other employee favorites include the cheesy bread and loaded tots.
I’ve spent plenty of time watching them make their food, and let me tell you that you won’t be disappointed with whatever you get because they truly care about how it looks and tastes. With them, it’s not just food, it’s a craft. Especially with the build your own pizza option, there’s no reason to not love whatever you get.
